What are some books you think everyone should read?

    1. The Hunger Games

The first book, and I'm not kidding. I'm reading this now. This became so big and got turned into a movie for a reason. Also, if you need a good example of how to write at a grade 10 level, this would be good.

    2. The Call of the Wild

I saw the movie a few days ago and took a glance at the book, which I'll be reading next. Jack London's writing is supposed to be top-notch, so totally worth it.

    3. Seneca's Letters From a Stoic

The Penguin edition. It's an amazing philosophical work. I was a philosophy major at the University of Toronto and we never read this. Shame.

    4. The Prince

I did read this at the University of Toronto and it was the most important book I read there.

    5. 48 Laws of Power

All Robert Greene books are amazing, but his first is the most popular. It's even banned in prison making it more alluring.

    6. Laws of Human Nature

Lucky enough to have read this during the first COVID lockdown. Another Robert Greene book. Very long, but illuminating.

    7. Elements of Style

This book probably helped me get my first news reporter job - and I went to journalism school and they never taught it! Writers will love it, non-writers will get something out of it for sure.

    8. Trust Me I'm Lying

Ryan Holiday's first book. If you want to know how the media works and the real forces influencing it, this is a must-read. Came out a decade ago and is still relevant.

    9. Meditations

The Marcus Aurelius book we all know and love.

    10. How to Stop Worrying and Start Living

By Dale Carnegie. The lesser-known title to his popular How to Win Friends and Influence People. Lot's of solid advice. He even quotes Seneca and Marcus Aurelius, too.

    11. The Courage to Be Disliked

By Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. Really big in Japan. Amazing for everyone.

    12. The War of Art

By Steven Pressfield. If you need inspiration, this book, written 20 years ago will give it to you and make the case for it.

    13. Man's Search for Meaning

By Viktor Frankl. I saw this on @Oluoch's list and I had to add it on my own.
