Why writing intimidates me

We all speak and have ideas yet only certain people "write".  I don't consider myself a writer but I am finally eager to learn how to do it. It is scary though...but why?

    1. Critcism

Writing something opens the doors to critics, invites them in, and they fire at will.

    2. Fear

What if I'm wrong? If I screw up. If I get broiled by the critics? What if I missed something obvious?  I don't relish conflict and I see that writing invites conflict - at least if you want to take a stance on something.

    3. Permanence

What if I change my opinion later?  Having written something publicly it can be used against me to call me a hypocrite.

    4. I might be boring

How fo I make my content interesting?  I need to learn how to fo that yet remain genuine.

I completely understand where you're coming from. Writing can be intimidating, especially when it opens you up to criticism and the possibility of being wrong. But I urge you to push past that fear and embrace the process of learning and growing as a writer. Remember, every writer started somewhere and faced their own set of challenges. The key is to keep going, keep writing, and keep improving. And as for the critics, don't let their words dictate your passion and drive. Embrace the feedback and use it to fuel your growth. Good luck on your writing journey!
