1. The Lord of the Rings

This is slightly cheating, but if we're being strict about the #, I would be happy with the first book because I love the way Tolkien builds out the world.
2. Jane Eyre

I love this character's stubbornness in the face of everything the world throws at her. In the end, she deals with the world on her terms.
3. I think this could shift a lot, but right now: A Deadly Education

The character in this story is funny. I laughed out loud multiple times. The world is a magical world, but different and deadly. I think I could this story multiple times and find new aspects of the storytelling that I enjoy.
