How to avoid distraction working on a laptop if you're a copywriter

For me it has always been hard to avoid distractions while working.

I am a wannabe copywriter, and ofter I've been discovering myself in need of one or two info that I need to include in a piece but I didn't remember.

Subsequently I used to open Linkedin or Gmail to check that mail or chat when I was sure to find it, but then I usually started bingewatching

So here's what I did

    1. Create a Google Drive folder to put in outstanding info

    2. deciding in advance what to include in the copy piece

    3. using internet to search for those info

    4. Collecting all material in one place

    5. blocking timers on linkedin and gmail

    6. saving screenshots

    7. turning off notification

    8. respond to emails and messages in advance

    9. ignore those emails (requires mindfulness)

    10. writing with pen and paper

Thanks for sharing. One quick question: do you have a recommendation on how to block timers on facebook and LinkedIn? Do you mean to use an app like freedom or do you have another way to put timer?

just set a timer of 5 minutes on your phone or using another browser tab: when it expires you'll wake up from bingewatching, and start working again

Notifications shall not pass, so you may breathe the distraction-free air again
